What Is TePe USA?

TePe USA is the direct-to-consumer storefront of TePe Oral Health Care, Inc., the American subsidiary of TePe Munhygienprodukter AB, a family-owned Swedish company that has made interdental brushes, toothbrushes and dental sticks in Malmö since 1965. If you have ever been handed a small color-coded brush by a hygienist and told to use it every night, there is a reasonable chance it was a TePe, and this is the company’s own shop for buying more of them.

The corporate chain is short and verifiable, which is the first thing worth knowing about a store like this. The Terms of Service and contact page identify the operator as “TePe Oral Health Care, Inc” at 1170 N Gilbert St, Anaheim, CA 92801, with phone 714-991-6700 and email info.usa@tepe.com. A press release dated May 3, 2017 from the Swedish parent records that TePe Oral Health Care Inc., until then an independent US distributor in the Los Angeles area, was integrated into the TePe group as a subsidiary effective July 1, 2017, with the group’s then export manager moving to the US to run it. That release also gives the group’s scale at the time: 300 employees, turnover of SEK 650 million in 2016, subsidiaries in six countries and distributors in more than 60.

The parent’s story is on the corporate site: in 1965 wood carver Henning Eklund, working with two professors at the School of Dentistry in Malmö, introduced the triangular dental stick that started the company. The site states that “TePe remains a family owned company, with all manufacturing in Malmö Sweden.” The US About page adds that current CEO Joel Eklund is the founder’s grandson, that products are sold in 60 countries, and — dated to 2017 — that the group had 320 employees in six countries. The US FAQ is direct about origin: “All products are manufactured at our facility in Malmo, Sweden.”

Public WHOIS records show the domain registered on December 17, 2003, so the US operation predates the 2017 acquisition by well over a decade. The FAQ lists a second toll-free number, 888-644-8376, for phone orders. None of this is unusual for a manufacturer’s storefront, but it is a much cleaner record than most oral-care brands you will find on an affiliate network.

What TePe USA Sells

The catalog is compact — 101 listings as of September 2026, and that count includes an e-gift card and the carbon-offset add-on the checkout app inserts — and almost all of it is under $10. It splits into five families.

Interdental brushes are the reason the brand exists and the bulk of the catalog. The Original line comes in nine color-coded wire sizes from pink 0.4 mm (ISO 0) through orange 0.45, red 0.5, blue 0.6, yellow 0.7, green 0.8, purple 1.1, gray 1.3 and black 1.5 mm (ISO 8). Each size is sold in a 6-pack at $7.99, a 20-pack at $20.99 and a 25-pack at $24.99, plus 36-packs at $34.99 on the professional listings. A mixed 6-pack of Original sizes 0.4 to 1.3 mm is $8.99 and is the sensible way to find your size if you have not been fitted by a dental professional. The Extra Soft line covers 0.45 to 1.1 mm in 8-packs at $8.99 and 25-packs at $24.99, with its own $8.99 mixed pack. The Angle line, with a longer handle and an angled head for back teeth, runs 0.4 to 0.8 mm in 6-packs at $7.99, 25-packs at $24.99 and 80-packs at $79.99, with a $7.99 mixed pack. New for 2026 is EasyFit, a two-size (S/M and M/L) brush sold in 6-packs at $8.99 and 20-packs at $22.99. There is a $9.99 Size Finder tool, a $1.35 travel case and an $8.99 Extra Grip handle. The FAQ notes that 6-packs include one cap while 25-packs include a cap per brush, except the gray and black sizes.

Picks and floss are the second pillar. EasyPick, a silicone-coated flexible pick, comes in XS/S (orange), M/L (blue) and XL (purple) at $2.99 for 12, $5.95 for 36 and $7.99 for 60, with 100- and 200-piece dispenser boxes at $27.79 and $60.00. TePe Dental Floss is $5.99, the Mini Flosser 36-pack $4.99, and Bridge and Implant Floss $8.99 for 30 pieces or $2.37 for a 5-piece sample.

Toothbrushes run cheap and cover the usual grades. Select and Select Compact are $3.59 in extra soft, soft and medium; Nova $3.99 in three grades; GOOD, the plant-based-plastic line, $3.99 in regular, compact and mini; Supreme and Supreme Compact, with a tapered multi-level head, $4.99 or $12.99 for a 3-pack; Colour 3-packs $7.69 and 4-packs $8.99; and Choice, a modular handle with three replaceable heads, $11.99. Kids and Mini brushes are $3.59, and a Kids 4-pack $9.99.

Specialty brushes are where the direct site is clearly more useful than a retailer. Compact Tuft ($5.99), Interspace with 12 replaceable tips ($10.99), Implant Orthodontic ($4.79), Denture Care ($4.79), Gentle Care ($4.99), Universal Care ($5.99) and Special Care in two head sizes ($5.99), the last tagged for chemotherapy, radiotherapy and dry-mouth patients. The Tongue Cleaner is $5.99.

Kits bundle the above for specific situations: Essentials at $17.99, Ortho and Advanced at $24.99, Perio at $26.99, and Implant Care at $27.99 or $44.99 depending on configuration, each with a choice of EasyPick size and brush size. A Holiday Smiles Gift Bundle is $49.99.

The store also carries the professional side of the business — practice boxes of 52 Angle or 120 Original brushes at $79.90 and $104.90, a $62.50 floss dispenser box, and “Program” bundles for dental offices at several hundred dollars with compare-at prices. Consumers can ignore those, but they are a useful tell that this is the same operation that supplies dental practices, not a marketing skin over a marketplace.

Three things decide what you actually pay.

Shipping. Orders ship from Anaheim at a flat $5.00, and orders over $40 ship free, calculated on the subtotal after discounts and before tax. Given the price list, that threshold is easy to clear with 25-packs and hard to clear with single items — two 6-packs and a toothbrush is $20.97 and you pay the $5, which adds 24% to the order. The Terms add that orders under $100 go by USPS and larger ones by UPS Ground, that orders to Alaska, Hawaii and Canada carry charges and delivery times that “will vary,” and nothing about PO boxes or US territories.

The subscription. Subscribe & Save takes 20% off every subscription order at monthly, two-month or three-month intervals, and the homepage promotes it site-wide. That is materially better than Amazon’s Subscribe & Save on the same products, which offered 5% on the mixed pack and 10% (or 15% with five or more items in a delivery) on the 25-pack as of September 2026. On a $24.99 25-pack the direct subscription price is $19.99 against $21.24 to $22.49 on Amazon. The FAQ says “Only one discount is allowed per offer, unless noted otherwise,” so do not expect to stack a code on top of the subscription.

Where you buy. On the hero SKUs, direct pricing is at parity with the marketplaces or slightly better. The blue 0.6 mm Original 25-pack is $24.99 direct, $24.99 on Amazon and $24.99 at Walmart, all sold by TePe Oral Health Care, Inc. The Original mixed 6-pack is $8.99 direct and $8.99 on Amazon. The Supreme 3-pack is $12.99 direct, $12.99 on Amazon and $13.02 at Target. Target lists single-size 6-packs at $8.49 and 20-packs at $21.99 against $7.99 and $20.99 direct. The EasyPick M/L 36-pack is $5.95 direct against $6.95 on Amazon and $6.95 at Walmart. Watch the unit price on marketplaces: one Amazon listing for the EasyPick XS/S 60-pack was $17.58 as of September 2026, more than double the $7.99 direct price for the same count.

The honest summary is that the direct store never charges you a premium, the subscription is the only place to get 20% off, and the $5 shipping charge is the only reason to buy elsewhere.

What Customers Say About TePe USA

Split the question in two, because the evidence is lopsided: there is a great deal of independent data about the products and almost none about the storefront.

On the products, the record is large and strongly positive. Amazon is the meaningful sample, and the seller on the main listings is TePe Oral Health Care, Inc. itself. As of September 2026 the Original mixed pack carries 4.3 out of 5 from 13,193 global ratings with “2K+ bought in past month”; the blue 0.6 mm 25-pack 4.8 from 10,518 with “600+ bought in past month”; the EasyPick M/L 36-pack 4.5 from 6,214; the EasyPick XS/S 60-pack 4.6 from 8,863; the Supreme 3-pack 4.6 from 953; and the Supreme Compact single 4.6 from about 1,200. Walmart’s listing for the blue 25-pack is 4.5 from 855 ratings. That is a consistent 4.3-to-4.8 band across tens of thousands of ratings, which is about as solid a product signal as consumer oral care gets. The mixed pack scoring lowest is consistent with what you would expect: buyers guessing their size get some brushes that do not fit.

The recurring criticism is wire durability on the fine sizes. The parent company’s Trustpilot profile contains an April 2025 review stating “Sticks are now very bendy and plastic breaks up very quickly,” and search snippets from r/askdentists show users asking whether TePe wires bend too easily and what the alternatives are. Against that, the r/DentalHygiene snippets that surface in search are about users starting on a TePe brush given to them by a dentist, and the company’s own sizing guidance — the brush should fit snugly without forcing and the wire should not touch either tooth — is the standard answer to bending. Treat it as a minority complaint that is real for people with tight contacts who push too hard, not a defect pattern. The Reddit part of this summary rests on snippets surfaced by search engines rather than a full read of the discussions, so weight it accordingly.

On the storefront, there is essentially nothing to go on. The Trustpilot profile for the US store has zero reviews as of September 2026 — “This company hasn’t received any reviews yet” — and is unclaimed. The parent’s tepe.com profile is also unclaimed, with a 3.2 TrustScore from 5 reviews split 40% five-star, 40% two-star and 20% one-star; the most recent, dated August 29, 2026, is about price increases across pack formats. Five reviews is not a sample; it is an anecdote. A search of the BBB database for “TePe Oral Health Care” in Anaheim, CA returned no results, so there is no BBB rating, no accreditation and no complaint history to report either way. The on-site Opinew widget is first-party: the blue 0.6 mm Original brush shows 4.8 from 76 reviews with 64 five-star, 11 four-star and one three-star, and the Compact Tuft brush shows 231, but these are reviews the store collects and publishes itself.

So the honest characterization is limited review volume for the store as of September 2026, layered on top of excellent, high-volume review data for the products. That gap is the main reason the score below is not higher.

No recalls surfaced for TePe products in CPSC recall listings as of September 2026, and queries of the FDA’s openFDA device enforcement and device recall endpoints for “TePe” returned no matches.

Is TePe USA Legit and Safe?

Yes, on every question that matters for whether you will get what you paid for. The store is run by the manufacturer’s US subsidiary under a named legal entity, at a published street address with a staffed phone line and a corporate email, on a domain registered since 2003, backed by a family-owned parent that has been in business since 1965 and manufactures everything in one Swedish facility. The same entity is the seller of record on Amazon, Walmart and Target. Checkout is Shopify with card, PayPal, Shop Pay and Apple Pay, so chargeback protection sits behind every order. The risk of paying and receiving nothing is about as low as this category gets.

The reservations are about terms and transparency, and they deserve a careful read before you buy.

The return policy is unusually strict for a consumer oral-care store. Because opened dental products cannot be resold, the site refuses “I don’t like it” returns outright. The only guarantee is a 30-day exchange for defective products bought directly, and the Terms deem goods accepted unless a written complaint “with full particulars” is received within five business days of delivery. To return anything you need an RMA number obtained by phone, the original box with all packing, and a complete order — partial returns are not accepted. The policy does not say who pays return postage. Free and promotional items cannot be exchanged or refunded. Cancellations must be made the same day during 8am–5pm Pacific business hours. For a $7.99 brush pack none of this matters much in dollar terms, but it does mean that if you order the wrong size, you own it — which is exactly why your first pack should be a mixed pack, or bought somewhere with a normal return window.

Delivery timing is stated two ways. The shipping policy and the Terms say “please allow 1-2 weeks for delivery within the USA.” The FAQ says “Please allow 3-5 business days once shipped.” Neither page gives a processing window beyond “as soon as possible,” and holidays “may delay shipping.” Set your expectation at the longer figure.

There is no independent record of how the store treats customers. Zero Trustpilot reviews for the US site, five for the parent, and no BBB file. That is not a red flag — plenty of manufacturer storefronts with modest direct volume look like this — but it means the store’s service reputation is unproven rather than good.

Pricing has drifted upward, and users notice. The one dated complaint on the parent’s Trustpilot page is about price increases across pack formats, and the mix of 6-, 8-, 20- and 25-count packs across the Original, Extra Soft and Angle lines makes per-brush comparisons fiddly. At $1.00 per brush in a 25-pack, $1.05 in a 20-pack and $1.33 in a 6-pack as of September 2026, the direct prices are not out of line with the category, but buy the larger pack once you know your size.

No ADA Seal. This is a fact, not a criticism of the products. The ADA’s 2025 Seal reference guide lists manual interdental cleaners from CVS Health, DenTek, GuruNanda, Oral-B, REACH, Tom’s of Maine and up&up — the only interdental brush among them is Target’s up&up Between Teeth Interdental Brush — and the word “TePe” does not appear in it. TePe’s marketing leans on development with dental experts and a professional program rather than the Seal, and the site does not claim the Seal anywhere in its product copy or FAQ. If the Seal is your shortlist criterion, this is not your brand.

Bottom Line

TePe USA earns a 4.2 out of 5 from LegitScout — very good, with the reservations sitting on return terms and the absence of storefront evidence rather than on whether the company is real or the products are good.

What earns it: a manufacturer-owned US subsidiary with a named entity, a published Anaheim address and phone line, and a paper trail back to a family-owned Swedish maker that has been in business since 1965; products backed by 13,193 Amazon ratings at 4.3 on the mixed pack and 10,518 at 4.8 on the best-selling 25-pack, with the same 4.3-to-4.8 band on picks and toothbrushes and no recalls; direct prices that match Amazon and Walmart and undercut Target on the hero items; a 20% subscription discount that beats Amazon’s 5% to 15%; a flat $5.00 shipping rate with free shipping over $40; and the full nine-size Original range plus specialty brushes and kits that retailers only partially stock.

What holds it back: a return policy that accepts no opened-product returns and gives you five business days to report a problem; a shipping estimate that is “1-2 weeks” on one page and “3-5 business days” on another; zero Trustpilot reviews for the US store, five for the parent and no BBB file, which leaves the service record unproven; a $40 free-shipping line that most single-line restocks will not reach; a minority but persistent complaint about fine-size wires bending; and no ADA Seal.

Buy from TePe USA when you already know your size and restock on a schedule. A 25-pack or two, or a subscription, clears the shipping line and gets you the lowest price on the market for these brushes. Buy your first pack — or a mixed pack — from Target, Amazon or your dental office instead, where you can return a wrong guess, and use the marketplaces for any one-off item under $40 where a $5 shipping charge would be the biggest line on the receipt.

What we like

  • The seller is the manufacturer's own US subsidiary, not a reseller, and every link in the chain checks out. The Terms of Service and contact page name 'TePe Oral Health Care, Inc' at 1170 N Gilbert St, Anaheim, CA 92801 with phone 714-991-6700 and email info.usa@tepe.com; a May 3, 2017 press release from the Swedish parent, TePe Munhygienprodukter AB, records that the US distributor was integrated into the TePe group as a subsidiary effective July 1, 2017; the parent is family-owned, founded in Malmö in 1965, and the site's FAQ states 'All products are manufactured at our facility in Malmo, Sweden.' The domain has been registered since December 17, 2003 per public WHOIS
  • The products themselves carry some of the largest independent rating volumes in the category as of September 2026. On Amazon, the Original interdental brush mixed pack sits at 4.3 out of 5 from 13,193 global ratings with '2K+ bought in past month,' the blue 0.6 mm 25-pack at 4.8 from 10,518, the EasyPick M/L 36-pack at 4.5 from 6,214 and the Supreme toothbrush 3-pack at 4.6 from 953 — all sold by TePe Oral Health Care, Inc. itself. Walmart shows the blue 25-pack at 4.5 from 855 ratings
  • Direct pricing is at parity with Amazon and Walmart and slightly under Target on the hero items, so you give up nothing by buying from the brand. As of September 2026 the Original 25-pack is $24.99 direct, $24.99 on Amazon and $24.99 at Walmart; the Original mixed 6-pack is $8.99 direct and $8.99 on Amazon; the Supreme 3-pack is $12.99 direct, $12.99 on Amazon and $13.02 at Target; single-size Original 6-packs are $7.99 direct against $8.49 at Target, and 20-packs $20.99 direct against $21.99 at Target; the EasyPick 36-pack is $5.95 direct against $6.95 on Amazon and at Walmart
  • The subscription discount is the best in any channel. Subscribe & Save on the direct site takes 20% off every order at monthly, two-month or three-month frequencies, whereas Amazon's Subscribe & Save on the same brushes offers 5% on the mixed pack and 10% to 15% on the 25-pack as of September 2026. On a $24.99 25-pack that is $19.99 direct versus $21.24 to $22.49 on Amazon
  • Shipping is cheap and the threshold is low. Orders ship from Anaheim, California at a flat $5.00, and orders over $40 ship free as of September 2026. Checkout runs on Shopify with the standard card, PayPal, Shop Pay and Apple Pay options, and the on-site review widget, while first-party, shows the blue 0.6 mm Original brush at 4.8 from 76 reviews with a 64/11/1/0/0 star split

What to watch out for

  • The return policy is unusually strict, and you should read it before ordering. The site 'does NOT accept "I DON'T LIKE IT" returns' because opened dental products are discarded; the only guarantee is a 30-day exchange for defective products bought direct, and the Terms deem goods accepted unless a written complaint 'with full particulars' is received within five business days of delivery. Returns need an RMA number obtained by phone, must arrive in original boxes with all packing, and partial returns are not permitted. Free or promotional items cannot be exchanged or refunded, and order cancellations must happen the same day within 8am–5pm Pacific business hours. All as of September 2026
  • There is almost no independent evidence about the direct storefront itself. Trustpilot's profile for the US store has zero reviews as of September 2026; the parent's tepe.com profile has a 3.2 TrustScore from just 5 reviews (40% five-star, 40% two-star, 20% one-star), unclaimed, with the most recent review dated August 29, 2026 complaining about price increases; and a search of the BBB database for 'TePe Oral Health Care' in Anaheim, CA returns no results at all. Every substantial rating you can check is retailer review data for the products, not the buying experience
  • The site contradicts itself on delivery time. The shipping policy and Terms both say 'please allow 1-2 weeks for delivery within the USA,' while the FAQ says 'Please allow 3-5 business days once shipped for products to arrive.' Orders are shipped 'as soon as possible' with no stated processing window, US public holidays 'may delay shipping,' the Terms say only that orders to Alaska, Hawaii and Canada carry charges and delivery times that 'will vary,' and nothing addresses PO boxes or US territories. For a $5 flat rate that is acceptable, but it is looser than a manufacturer-run store should be
  • The catalog is cheap per item and the threshold is $40, so a typical restock does not ship free. A 6-pack of brushes is $7.99, a 36-pack of EasyPicks $5.95, a Supreme toothbrush $4.99 and a tongue cleaner $5.99 as of September 2026; unless you buy in 25-packs or stack several lines, you will pay the $5.00 charge, which is 63% of the price of a single 6-pack. Amazon Prime or a Target run is the better move for one-off purchases
  • No TePe product carries the ADA Seal of Acceptance, and some user feedback points at wire durability. The ADA's 2025 Seal reference guide lists manual interdental cleaners from CVS Health, DenTek, Oral-B, REACH and Target's up&up, but 'TePe' does not appear anywhere in the document. The tepe.com Trustpilot profile includes an April 2025 review stating 'Sticks are now very bendy and plastic breaks up very quickly,' and search snippets from r/askdentists show users asking about TePe wires bending — a minority view against tens of thousands of positive ratings, but a consistent one, and worth knowing if you have tight contacts

Frequently Asked Questions

Is TePe USA legit?

Yes. The store is the official US arm of a 61-year-old Swedish manufacturer, not a third-party reseller. The Terms of Service and contact page name 'TePe Oral Health Care, Inc' at 1170 N Gilbert St, Anaheim, CA 92801, phone 714-991-6700, email info.usa@tepe.com. A May 3, 2017 press release from the parent company, TePe Munhygienprodukter AB of Malmö, records that TePe Oral Health Care Inc. — previously its independent US distributor — became a subsidiary of the TePe group effective July 1, 2017. The parent was founded in 1965 by wood carver Henning Eklund, remains family-owned with the founder's grandson Joel Eklund as CEO, and manufactures everything in Malmö, Sweden. The same legal entity is the seller of record on Amazon, Walmart and Target listings. The domain has been registered since December 17, 2003. No recalls surfaced in CPSC listings or the FDA's openFDA device enforcement database as of September 2026. The caveats are about policy, not legitimacy: the return terms are strict, and there is very little independent review data about the storefront as opposed to the products.

How much do TePe products cost in 2026, and is buying direct cheaper than Amazon?

As of September 2026 the direct catalog runs to 101 products, most of them under $10. Original interdental brushes are $7.99 for a 6-pack, $20.99 for a 20-pack and $24.99 for a 25-pack in every size from pink 0.4 mm (ISO 0) to black 1.5 mm (ISO 8); the mixed 6-pack of Original or Extra Soft is $8.99; Angle 6-packs are $7.99 and 25-packs $24.99; Extra Soft 8-packs $8.99. EasyPicks are $2.99 for 12, $5.95 for 36 and $7.99 for 60. Toothbrushes run $3.59 for Select and Mini, $3.99 for Nova and GOOD, $4.99 for Supreme, $12.99 for a Supreme 3-pack and $11.99 for the Choice handle with three heads. The tongue cleaner is $5.99, floss $5.99 and the Mini Flosser 36-pack $4.99. Kits run $17.99 (Essentials) to $44.99 (Implant Care). Against retail, direct is at parity or slightly cheaper: the 25-pack is $24.99 direct, on Amazon and at Walmart; the Supreme 3-pack is $12.99 direct and on Amazon versus $13.02 at Target; 6-packs are $7.99 direct versus $8.49 at Target; and the EasyPick 36-pack is $5.95 direct versus $6.95 on Amazon and at Walmart. The direct-only edge is Subscribe & Save at 20% off, against 5% to 15% on Amazon.

What is TePe USA's shipping and return policy?

Shipping is a flat $5.00 from Anaheim, California, and free on orders over $40 (subtotal after discounts, before tax) as of September 2026. The shipping policy says to allow 1–2 weeks for delivery within the USA; the FAQ says 3–5 business days once shipped. Returns are the weak point. The site does not accept returns because you do not like a product — opened dental items are discarded — and the only guarantee is a 30-day exchange for defective products purchased directly. You must report defects or other complaints in writing within five business days of delivery, obtain a Return Merchandise Authorization number by calling 714-991-6700 with your order number, ship the item back in its original box with all packing, and partial returns are not accepted. The policy does not say who pays return postage. Free and promotional items cannot be exchanged or refunded, and cancellations must be made the same day during 8am–5pm Pacific business hours. If you are buying a size for the first time and might guess wrong, buy that first pack somewhere with a normal return window.

Are TePe interdental brushes recommended by dentists, and do they have the ADA Seal?

TePe's marketing says the range is developed with dental experts, and the company runs a professional program in the US — the direct site sells practice boxes and dispenser boxes to dental offices alongside consumer packs, and search snippets from r/DentalHygiene and r/askdentists mention users being handed a TePe brush by their dentist or hygienist. That is directional, not proof. What can be checked is that no TePe product carries the ADA Seal of Acceptance as of September 2026: the ADA's 2025 Seal reference guide lists manual interdental cleaners from CVS Health, DenTek, Oral-B, REACH and up&up, and the word 'TePe' does not appear in it. The independent evidence that does exist is volume: 13,193 Amazon ratings at 4.3 on the mixed pack and 10,518 at 4.8 on the blue 25-pack as of September 2026. The recurring criticism in user discussion is that the wire on the finest sizes bends under force, which the company's own guidance addresses by saying the brush should fit snugly without forcing and the wire should not touch either adjacent tooth.

Where are TePe products made, and where else can you buy them in the US?

All TePe products are made in Malmö, Sweden. The site's FAQ states 'All products are manufactured at our facility in Malmo, Sweden,' the corporate site says TePe remains 'a family owned company, with all manufacturing in Malmö Sweden,' and individual listings such as the Choice toothbrush describe products as 'developed and produced in Sweden.' In the US, the FAQ lists the direct site, an Amazon storefront, a Walmart storefront and Wegmans stores; Target also carries a range sold and shipped by TePe, and dental supply distributors such as Patterson stock the professional packs. On Amazon, Walmart and Target the seller of record on the main listings is TePe Oral Health Care, Inc. itself, so those channels are as authentic as the direct site. One Amazon EasyPick XS/S 60-pack listing was $17.58 as of September 2026, more than double the direct price of $7.99, so check the seller and unit price before you buy on a marketplace.
