A cookie is a small piece of data a website stores in your browser, often to remember who you are between visits or to track activity for advertising. This page explains, plainly, what this site does and doesn't do with cookies, and what happens the moment you click a link that takes you somewhere else.
Cookies This Site Sets
The only cookies legitscout.com sets are the two that Google Analytics uses to count
visitors: _ga and _ga_<id>. They store a randomly
generated number that lets repeat visits from the same browser be counted once instead of
several times. They expire two years after your last visit.
We don't use cookies to build an advertising profile of you or to follow you across other websites. We have not enabled Google Signals, advertising features, or remarketing, and we never upload personal data to Google Analytics. We set no other cookies of our own.
Analytics
This site uses Google Analytics 4 to understand aggregate traffic, like which pages get read the most and roughly where readers arrive from. It is the source of the two cookies described above. To opt out, use Google's official opt-out browser add-on, block cookies for this site, or use any common content blocker — nothing on this site depends on analytics working.
This site may additionally use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which is cookieless by design: it doesn't rely on cookies or similar client-side storage, can't identify you individually, and produces only aggregated statistics. See our privacy policy for more on what analytics data covers.
What Happens When You Click a Link to a Brand
This is the part worth stating plainly. When you click a "Visit [Brand]" button, a pricing link, or any other outbound link to a brand we cover, you leave legitscout.com and land on that brand's own website — or, once an affiliate relationship with that brand is active, on a tracking link operated by a network like Impact or Awin that redirects you there. From that point on, the destination sets its own cookies, not us: typically a short-lived tracking cookie the network uses to credit LegitScout if you go on to make a purchase, plus whatever cookies the brand's own site uses to run its store, remember your cart, or serve its own ads. Those cookies belong to the brand or the network, are covered by their cookie and privacy policies, and we have no access to them or the data they collect. Managing or Clearing Cookies
Because this site doesn't set cookies of its own, there's nothing here for you to switch off. If you'd like to see, block, or clear cookies that other sites — including brands you visit through our links — have already placed in your browser, every major browser has built-in controls for that:
